Ana sayfa / News

Rumors of layoffs for Amazon are growing. Following a New York Times report that put the number at 10,000, various sources indicate that the number could exceed 30,000.

News first broke when the New York Times (NYT) reported that Amazon planned to lay off approximately 10,000 employees. This would be the largest layoff plan in the company’s history.

However, technology-focused publication The Information claimed that this number could reach 20,000. These employees were reportedly in technology and corporate roles.

Finally, Computerworld magazine claimed that Amazon will lay off more than 30,000 employees in total this year. These rumors are seen as a reflection of the general slowdown in the technology sector.

Sources close to the company cite the economic slowdown as the reason for this massive layoff. Rising costs and the company’s slowing revenue growth are also cited as significant factors.

The departments affected by the layoffs include devices like Alexa, the retail division, and human resources departments. Amazon, which employed over 1.5 million people at the time, aimed to offset its costs with this move.
